Pure SSD storage
Every VM runs on pure solid-state drives — no SATA, no hybrids, nothing spinning. Where a SATA disk manages around 120MB/s of writes, our SSDs push roughly 520MB/s, so your read and write requests never queue behind the hardware.
SSDs are the greener choice too: they draw less power, and with no moving parts there is no noise, no vibration and — crucially — far less heat, which cuts the cooling our racks need.
Hardware RAID
You will not find software RAID here causing slowdowns. Even with today’s faster processors, software RAID steals cycles from your virtual machines — so every host runs pure hardware RAID with a dedicated controller for the very best performance.
If our monitoring spots a faulty drive, hot-swap bays at the front of the server let us replace it with zero downtime and zero data loss. You will never even notice.
Dual Xeon processors
One processor is never enough. Every server carries two Xeons — Intel Gold on standard VPS, Intel E5 on developer boxes — for more cores and far higher thread counts.

Low-latency UK network
Our partner runs its own high-speed MPLS-enabled network spanning multiple UK data centres, with multiple failover routes to the internet and every intersite link at 10Gb/s or better. Juniper MX routers sit at the edge, Juniper EX virtual chassis switches at the core, and the whole network is dual-stacked IPv4/IPv6.
Multiple 10Gb/s uplinks reach tier-one transit providers including Level 3 and NTT, with peering at LINX and LONAP alongside BT, Virgin Media, Claranet, Janet and more. From our dedicated racks onwards, our own high-performance switches take over.
